"How are your grades?"
"What are you majoring in?"
"Have you got a girlfriend?"
"What do you want to do when you graduate?"
I don’t do these kind of wordy posts often, but I’ve had many friends around me losing people this year in a short period of time, and with the death if Robin Williams it just adds to the amount of loss. I am in a strange place where even though I am not personally connected to these people, I somehow still feel a sense of sadness. So I felt like writing a post to honour the dead, and those who have passed away this past year. Death is a strange thing, we know so much about what comes before it, yet so little about what comes after (spiritually speaking). Unlike when someone goes away on a trip, the person does not come back. But it’s amazing how much the phrase time heals applies here. As time goes on we experience new things, and the pain fades away replaced by happy memories of the individual. It’s important to grieve and mourn, but in the end - it’s the legacy and memory that the person left behind which counts the most.
And with that I leave you with a quote.
"It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more." - Albus Dumbledore Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
